Mick Fleetwood, legendary drummer and founding member of Fleetwood Mac, was born June 24 1947 in Cornwall, England. He began his professional drumming career at the age of 16 and has remained at the forefront of the music industry for over 40 years.
Fleetwood has been a shutterbug since the late 1960s, when bandmate John McVie introduced him to photography. He is very passionate about his works and the message he wants the viewer to feel and is very grateful that several galleries are now showing his works. His Photos reflect a very personal spiritual journey that focuses on reflection and faith in the individual and those that we share our lives with each day or from time to time throughout our lives.
Mick has co-authored 2 books including the NY Times Best Seller,” My Life and Adventures in Fleetwood Mac”. He is currently writing his third book with acclaimed author, Anthony Bozza, scheduled to be released very soon. Fleetwood continues to find critical acclaim with his music, including a Grammy nomination in 2010 for his Mick Fleetwood Blues Band.
For over 14 years he’s been at the helm of his own wine enterprise, Mick Fleetwood Private Cellar. His wine has been featured in Wine Spectator and Wine Connoisseur and the Wall Street Journal. They have received over 10 blind tasting international medals.
Most recently Fleetwood opened FLEETWOODS ON FRONT ST., in Maui. Opening a place like Fleetwood’s on Front Street has been a life-long dream of Mick’s since he opened up Club Keller (his pretend/fantasy venue) in his family’s barn in Gloucestershire, England at the age of 12. The restaurant has won the restaurant association’s coveted Best New Restaurant, and the Maui County Fair’s best vegetarian and best overall chili in 2013 .
Mick has four daughters and two grandchildren. He and his family have their permanent residence on the Island of Maui, Hawaii and also maintain a home in Los Angeles, California. Whether behind his drum kit, pursuing his dream, interacting with fans or just playing with his grandkids, Mick brings his own unique, drive, passion and spirituality to the many facets of his life.
